Jordan Santos (@jordanrisa) is one of the coolest people you’ll meet. I don't mean cool in an intimidating or standoffish way, but cool in that she is kind, unapologetic and accomplished yet humble – but you would already know that if you were following her on IG. Jordan is an established Filipino-American Social Media Consultant with clients including Rose Inc., MERIT, Sofia Richie, Eadem and more. She is also a creative and curator of @SeenLibrary, an online community for book lovers.

Who is Jordan? Tell us about you and your work.

I am Jordan, a Los Angeles native who loves traveling, reading, and outfit repeating. I'm Filipino-American, a gemini (don't judge me), and a social media consultant.

What does it mean to be an AAPI in your field?

To be Asian American in my field means that I have a different and wider perspective than the homogenous decision makers that have come before me. It means that I'm able to hopefully pave the way for younger Asian Americans who are looking to a career that may not have the approval of their elders and enable them to see that there's another career path for them. I know that seeing Asian women working in fashion and social media when I was graduating college was a major factor in the career I sought.

What does wellness look like to you?

Despite what social media will have you believe, wellness is not about buying more products in the name of "self-care" -- wellness is taking care of yourself, mentally and physically. Wellness, to me, looks like surrounding myself with genuinely good people both in my personal life and work, enriching my mind through reading and learning from new perspectives, and taking care of my body by exercising (without weighing myself or comparing my body to others) and trying to eat healthy.

What does feeling good mean to you?

Feeling good means feeling confident and self-assured and unapologetic for who I am.

What does doing good mean to you?

Doing good means actually caring about others beyond myself and taking meaningful action to support others -- beyond reposting an Instagram post on stories.

What would you like to see for the future of the AAPI community?

I would love to see more AAPI living for themselves instead of always for the approval of their elders. I think there are infinite ways to be good and successful, and this doesn't always have to involve going with a safe career choice or getting married and having kids or being a certain weight. So much pressure is put on Asian children, along with guilt, and I would love to see less of that in our communities.
